This tour focuses on architectural gems of the Beaux Art movement. We begin on 44th Street where the the century old Iroquois New York, New York Yacht Club and other private clubs still stand today and then visit the iconic Grand Central Terminal, NY Public Library, Bryant Park and the Chrysler Building to show guests the grandeur of the neighborhood and share the stories and eccentricities of these landmarks. In addition to the architectural and cultural history of the neighborhood, the tour will offer suggestions for tour-goers to do on their own.

Monday

Hotel BelleclaireUpper West Side and Central Park

This tour visits Central Park and highlights the hotel in the context of the Beaux Art movement and the history of grand apartment hotels in the Upper West Side. While focusing on architecture, we'll visit the Dakota, the Ansonia, and in particular buildings of Emery Roth. The tour will also introduce guests to neighborhood life in the Upper West Side and to Central Park. We'll show guests where locals eat and shop and visit Central Park gems like Strawberry Fields and Bethesda Terrace near the hotel before guests tackle the rest of the park on their own.

Finally, the tour will visit another Art Deco favorite, Rockefeller Center, paying close attention to the center's art. Tour-goers will get a ground-level view of the big city. This tour surprises everyone—with sound sculptures, optical illusions, and the hidden gems of midtown.

Tribeca is at once one of New York's oldest neighborhoods and a fashionable district. There is no better place to start this tour than at the Frederick Hotel. The hotel's building dates back to the 1840's making possibly New York's oldest hotel structure. It is now a modern boutique hotel. The tour visits the historic and hip blocks of Tribeca before visiting the new World Trade Center and the Financial District. We pull back layers of history and check out new architectural marvels and art.

The EvelynNoMad and Flatiron District

This tour will feature the Marble Collegiate Church, "the little church around the corner," and the iconic buildings around Madison Square, the New York Life Insurance, and Metropolitan Life Insurance Tower. Beyond historic buildings, the tour will also highlight the nouveau chic Flatiron District and end in the popular open-air Farmer's market at Union Square.
